Annex AV Help Desk Closure

During the Remedial Action Plan, departments are being asked to find efficiencies and cost savings. The IT Services reliance on student employees means we are affected by the minimum wage increase to $14/hr starting January 2018.  

If you compare the AV Help Desk in the Annex Building (MCC 301) to the Main Campus AV Help Desk (MCA 343), it is serving 10% of the traffic. We need to redirect resources that serve the broader community. Faculty survey data and feedback has indicated to us that we need to improve the technology experience in our classrooms and we aim to direct resources to improving smart classrooms. 

Starting in January 2018, equipment loans will no longer be available from the Annex AV Help Desk, MCC 301. Faculty who require equipment loans will be accommodated at the main campus Help Desk, MCA 343 where we can provide better support to a broader group of people.  

We appreciate concerns regarding the few minutes of additional travel time this will mean for you between buildings, but we will work hard to provide continued quality service at 100 McCaul.
