Basic Mac Troubleshooting StepsA number of issues you may be experiencing with your Mac can be resolved by performing an SMC and PRAM reset. These two resets will not erase any of your data - they simply reset how the components in your computer talk to each other. Performing an SMC or PRAM reset can resolve these issues:
Another good troubleshooting step is to run the First Aid function in Disk Utility.
If you think you may have Malware or a Virus, we recommend the free version of Malwarebytes for Mac.
As a last resort effort before looking into hardware repair options, your best bet is to Backup your Mac (if possible) and Reinstall MacOS. | |
