Old Versions of Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite
Updated: 17 May 2019 01:30 PM

On May 14, 2019, Adobe communicated that a number of their older Creative Cloud and Creative Suite versions were no longer "authorized for use" due to third-party licensing restrictions:

We have recently discontinued certain older versions of Creative Cloud applications, and as a result, under the terms of our agreement, you are no longer licensed to use them.

Please be aware that should you continue to use the discontinued version(s), you may be at risk of potential claims of infringement by third parties.

Which versions does this affect?

For more information, please see Adobe's list of affected versions below:

Does this affect me?

If you're a current student at OCAD U using Adobe Creative Cloud, this does not affect you in any way. We deploy and provide only current, licensed versions of Adobe Creative Cloud via the Laptop Program and to our computers on campus.

  • If you attended OCAD U in 2013 or earlier, and you were entitled to a license of Adobe Creative Suite CS6 products, this change affects you and your software may no longer be authorized for use. Please contact Adobe to determine your subscription options.
  • If you attended OCAD U previously, and you had your laptop imaged, you may have a version of Adobe Creative Cloud on your laptop that is no longer authorized for use. We expect these versions of Adobe Creative Cloud will expire in 2019. Please contact Adobe to determine your subscription options.
