Many laptop thefts on campus are crimes of opportunity, where someone goes to the washroom or to get a coffee, leaving their laptop in a classroom, in the library, grange or open studio area.
In the event of a theft:
Please report all thefts using the information below to OCAD U Campus Security Lost and Found Program Campus Security Lost and Found Program 100 McCaul St., Main Lobby 416-977-6000, Ext. 627 firstname.lastname@example.org
Hours of Operation Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm
Please come and see us at the Laptop Help Desk and we can loan you a laptop in the meantime while you are making arrangements for a replacement.
Campus Security is committed to deterring theft and vandalism and safeguarding university and personal property but we cannot do so without your cooperation and assistance. Please, do not leave valuables unattended at any time. Report any incidents involving lost, stolen or damaged items to Campus Security at Ext. 366.
If your name, student number or telephone number appears anywhere on a found item, Campus Security will do its best to get in touch with you.
Items are stored in a secure location for 60 days (depending on the nature of the item found). Unclaimed items that are free of personal information are redistributed to the OCAD University community and charitable organizations through various means of donations. Any item containing personal information will be destroyed.
To report a lost item, please complete a Lost and Found Report.

Found items are stored in a secure location for 60 days (depending on the nature of the item found). Unclaimed items that are free of personal information will be redistributed within the OCAD University community or donated to charitable organizations. Any items containing personal information that are not claimed within 60 days will be destroyed.
Students, staff, faculty, and visitors can collect their found items only during the programs hours of operation. OCADU identification or valid Government identification must be presented to Campus Security when collecting an item.
Campus Security cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen items while on Campus.
