How to Use the Copier in My Department

Note: You may be asked to associate your OCAD U ID card with your print account if you have not yet done so. Simply type in your username and password when prompted if so and you are good to go.

 

  1. If the screen is blank, press the neon-green power-saver button on the keypad.

  2. Locate the proximity card reader on the device (it is labelled)

  3. Tap your Faculty card on the reader once. An LED will flash green indicating that is has been read.

  4. Select the "Copy" option on the services menu.

  5. The machine is ready to copy.

To log out of the machine:

  1. Press the logout option located on the top right corner of the screen.

  2. Confirm your selection.

How to Fix the Staff Copiers

If there is a paper jam:

  1. Most paper jams can be cleared without assistance. Follow the instructions on the screen of the machine. The machine shows you in pictures which doors to open and which levers to press.

  2. If there is paper jammed in the fuser and/or you are unable to clear the jam,  please contact Copy & Print at Extension 202 or email Copy & Print at copyprint@ocadu.ca.

If the copier is displaying an error message other than a paper jam:

  1. Please record the error message and contact Copy & Print Services.

How to Order Paper, Toner or Supplies for Staff

If your department is running low on paper:

  1. Contact us

  2. Indicate the number of reams or boxes you require,

  3. Be sure to include an account code which may be billed for the cost of the paper.

  4. Do not take paper from the copier room. Your department does not pay for the paper that is there.

 

If the printer in your department is running low on toner:

  1. Contact us  copyprint@ocadu.ca to order toner for HP or Xerox printers.

  2. Please include the make and model number of your printer, as well as an account code which can be billed for the cost of the toner.

  3. While we do our best to keep your model of toner in stock, sometimes it requires a few days to take delivery of certain toners.

 

If the copier in your department is running low on paper, toner or supplies.

  1. Contact us  copyprint@ocadu.ca to order paper or toner for the copier. Please email the same address if the copier indicates that supplies are needed.
