Adobe Creative Cloud 2019: Things you need to know
Posted by Andrew McAllister on 24 October 2018 05:01 PM

What's New?

Adobe released the 2019 versions of Creative Cloud last week at Adobe MAX, and they're available for download for all students and faculty right now using the Adobe Creative Cloud app. Some of the new improvements include:

  • New voice and animation features for Adobe XD
  • Speed and profile enhancements for Adobe Lightroom CC
  • Multiple undo and improvements to the type tool for Photoshop CC
  • And lots more. Every app received an update.

Adobe Creative Cloud on shared campus desktops versus your laptop: Not the same anymore

Adobe is no longer supporting the ability for us to deploy Creative Cloud 2019 on campus. Not yet at least. Campus computers will continue to run Adobe Creative Cloud 2018 until Adobe releases new tools to support this in early 2019.

Here are some of the new updates for Adobe Creative Cloud 2019 and coming to Adobe apps in the future.

Mid-Semester Update: Adobe XD Creative Jam, macOS Mojave and more
Posted by Andrew McAllister on 09 October 2018 02:21 PM

Adobe XD Creative Jam at OCAD U XD Jam

OCAD U is hosting another Adobe Creative Jam! Register to compete in the Greater Toronto Area Design Schools & Adobe Creative Jam LIVE online tournament against your classmates held on Tuesday 6 November at 4:00pm at 49 McCaul Street. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gta-design-schools-adobe-creative-jam-live-tickets-5087455616

The first, second, and third place teams will receive prizes worth up to US $250 each! All participants who compete in the tournament receive a 1-year subscription to Adobe Stock after completion (worth up to US $360).

macOS Mojave: Don't upgrade yet.

We've been road-testing macOS Mojave 10.14 and while we love the "dark mode", we've seen some very strange and unwelcome behaviour. Mojave is the last macOS to run 32-bit apps "without compromise", which seems to indicate there are changes under the hood, some of which have resulted in very odd restarts. Your experience may be different, but if your system is running fine with High Sierra, don't change it.

Reminder: Adobe Creative Cloud

Goodbye redemption codes! Access to Creative Cloud using your student.ocadu.ca Adobe ID that we rolled out for all students this Fall.
